Sonoran House Sam Hughes turns one and launches new breakfast, brunch, and dinner menus Aug. 1, including Abuelita's French Toast and Vera Earl Ranch Carne plates.
Sonoran House Sam Hughes turns one year old this month, and the 2513 E. Sixth St. restaurant is marking the milestone with an overhaul of its food and drink programming. New breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner, and happy hour menus all launch Aug. 1. Partner Kevin Bedient says the team has spent the past eight months developing the changes.
"Breakfast and Brunch has been a request of our customers since day one," said executive chef Gabriella Alba. "After a year under our aprons, we are ready!"
A year of building toward this momentSonoran House Sam Hughes opened July 2025, inside the historic former Rincon Market building at 2513 E. Sixth St. The location combined a specialty coffee shop, craft cocktail bar, scratch kitchen, and a retail space featuring more than 150 local artisans. It marked the second location for the Sonoran House brand, which originally opened in August 2024 at 1610 N. Tucson Blvd.
Alba joined the team following a statewide search that drew more than 200 applicants. Bedient says watching her work over the past year has shaped how the new menus came together.
'"It is impressive to see Chef Gabby work and we are very lucky to have her," he said. "The way she combines Sonoran flavors with comfort classics makes this menu perfect for Tucson."
New breakfast and brunch menusBreakfast service runs daily 7 a.m.-3 p.m., with brunch offered Saturday and Sunday during the same window. Several new dishes anchor both menus, and Alba says one in particular has been years in the making.
"I am especially excited to see the Abuelita's French Toast come to fruition," Alba said. "It has been a plate in design for years and is truly delicious."

Country Fried Chicken rounds out the brunch additions, plated with two eggs any style, breakfast hash, and sausage gravy on a choice of biscuit, sourdough, milkbread, or English muffin ($19).
The weekend brunch menu also introduces Breakfast Charcuterie ($25), a curated board of assorted morning meats, artisanal cheeses, sweets, and seasonal accoutrements.
Both the daily breakfast and weekend brunch menus carry forward existing favorites, including the Breakfast Crunchwrap with salsa tatemada ($10), the SoHo Plate with two eggs any style and breakfast hash ($13), the Sonoran Scramble with hatch cheddar and cilantro lime crema ($15), and the Avocado Toast with queso fresco and chile lime pepita crunch ($15).
