A Southern Desert Correctional Center inmate died this week, according to state prison officials.

Romeo Buckley, 29, died Tuesday at the Indian Springs correctional facility, the Nevada Department of Corrections said in a news release.

Buckley was serving a sentence of 96 to 300 months for attempted murder with use of a deadly weapon, robbery and conspiracy to commit a violent crime, according to the release. He entered the prison system on May 10, 2017, from Clark County.

Officials said an autopsy for Buckley was requested.
