I have an old arc welder which I very rarely use, certainly not for anything that matters. I might use it to cobble something together but not if I can help it. So why am I here? As an occasional lurker on the forum I have found so much interesting stuff covering just about everything you can think of to do with metal and being creative. A great place to learn, ask questions and who knows maybe contribute too.
I am considering building the Senior hit and miss engine ,a retirement project, it would be my first engine build . The size of it appeals, not small and fiddly. As I am a member now I am hoping to be able to carry on reading Chippie's engine build thread which I found really interesting and enjoyable. Let's see.
My interests are classic motorcycles ('69 Triumph Daytona) and woodworking for pleasure (retired carpenter joiner) . I have a Myford big bore super seven, a Warco Minor mill/drill and a Warco GH Universal mill. I bought the machines to back up the old bikes, there is always something needs doing or making. I am still interested in motorcycles but have gone off the boil in recent years and am definitely a fair weather rider now.

out of interest, when I started my apprenticship the firm had a torpedo welder.....
The guy I was given too was suprised I wanted to learn to use it....."U'll never need to weld".....
How wrong can u get....77 years old and still welding....

Thank you Frank for the welcome, I had already thought about getting help with welding and anything else come to that . A great forum, something for everyone here.
