MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. — The Vertical Stack XC is the newest addition to Ice Air's All Climate Comfort Series of cold-climate heat pumps.

Ice Air specializes in heat pump solutions for multifamily, hospitality, student housing, and mixed-use developments.

Designed for projects that require concealed, in-wall vertical HVAC systems, the Vertical Stack XC delivers reliable heating performance when outdoor temperatures are below 0°F while providing the installation simplicity, design flexibility, and individual unit control that developers and building owners demand, a press release from Ice Air said.

The Vertical Stack XC is particularly well-suited for multifamily and mixed-use projects for which mechanical room space is limited, gas infrastructure upgrades are costly or impractical, and developers are seeking long-term solutions that align with evolving building regulations and sustainability goals, the press release said.

The Vertical Stack XC enables more buildings to transition away from fossil fuels, simplifies retrofit opportunities, reduces dependence on central heating systems, and provides greater design flexibility for architects and engineers, the company said.

“The real story is bigger than a single HVAC unit,” said Ric Nadel, the Ice Air CEO. “When a heat pump can provide reliable heating below 0°F, one of the final barriers to electrification begins to disappear. Developers, owners, architects, and engineers can now future-proof buildings.”

Key features of the Vertical Stack XC include:

• Cold-climate heating performance in subzero outdoor temperatures.
