Eve Hewson looked sensational as she was joined by her glamorous mother, Ali Hewson, on the red carpet at the star-studded Jay Kelly premiere during the Venice Film Festival on Thursday.

The Irish actress, 34, who appears as the title character's first wife in a flashback scene in the upcoming comedy-drama, turned heads in a dazzling black sequin gown. 

Her strapless number featured chiffon detailing at the bust, a figure-hugging waist, shimmering sequin embellishments, and a dramatic textured skirt that billowed as she walked. 

Eve completed the look with sparkling gold diamond earrings and a slick of plum lipstick, oozing old Hollywood glamour. 

Meanwhile, her mother, Ali, 64, who is married to U2 frontman Bono, cut an equally stylish figure in a floor-length black gown. 

Ali's chic dress featured a semi-sheer bodice, long sleeves, a structured peplum waist, and a flattering fitted skirt. 

The film, due for release on November 14, boasts a star-studded cast including Adam Sandler, George Clooney, Emily Mortimer, Laura Dern, Billy Crudup, and Greta Gerwig. 

Jay Kelly follows a famous movie star and his devoted manager, Ron, as they embark on an unexpectedly profound journey through Europe. 

Along the way, both men confront the choices they've made, relationships with loved ones, and the legacies they'll leave behind. 

Eve's red carpet appearance comes after she previously shrugged off 'nepo baby' criticism last year, defending her rise to fame. 

The actress, the daughter of rock legend Bono and businesswoman Ali, has since landed a string of high-profile roles, acting alongside the likes of Nicole Kidman. 

And Eve is sanguine about her famous father and any nepo baby talk, previously telling Porter Magazine: 'The only thing you can do is crack a joke and move on.' 

Eve, who has previously admitted she was a 'little troublemaker' during her youth, grew up with her three siblings in Dublin in a creative household 'filled with conversations about film and music and poetry and literature'.

She admitted that acting felt inevitable, insisting 'it was the only thing I was any good at' but she did originally want to follow her dad into music, laughing: 'I thought I was going to be Charli XCX.' 

Eve, who now lives in LA, is close to her parents and siblings, with the family reunited in Dublin during the pandemic, marking the first time in years that they had all lived together.

'We have a studio at the end of [my parents'] garden, where [we] usually end up, in the middle of the night, writing stupid songs.

'I actually got kicked out of the family band for being too enthusiastic,' she recalled.

But the One hitmaker didn't join in with the sessions. Asked if he was part of the band, Eve said: 'No! He was asleep by 10pm every night.'

Jay Kelly is scheduled for release in UK theatres on November 14, followed by a global Netflix release on December 5.
