Big Brother returned to screens on Sunday night following a five-year hiatus as the iconic reality TV show launched a brand new reboot on ITV2.
But as housemates descended on Garden Studios house in North London, there appeared to be one very noticeable change.
While Marcus Bentley still narrates the programme with his comforting Geordie accent, fans of the show took a disliking to the much more 'sinister' voice that rang inside the house from Big Brother himself.
Viewers all had the same complaint over the 'terrifying' sound as they compared the 'ominous tone' to 'Hannibal Lector.'
Sharing their thoughts on X, formerly known as Twitter, they begged for the original to return and joked they wanted to 'evict' the 'murderous' voice.

One person wrote: 'Big brothers voice is terrifying lol pls can we have the blunt robot back pls'
Another added: 'The new Big Brother man's voice is absolutely terrifying. I would simply s*** myself if he piped up.'
'So terrified of Big Brother’s voice? why does it have slightly sinister undertones,' a third questioned.
Someone else posted: 'God the new BB voice is giving me Squid Game energy, I feel like they’re about to be shot down at any moment.'
'Is it just me or is the new BB voice giving Hannibal Lector vibes?' one fan shared.
Referring to A Space Odyssey, another person joked: 'The voice of Big Brother sounds like it's going to turn murderous like HAL in 2001.'
New hosts AJ Odudu and Will Best kicked off the launch show on ITV, after the reality show was axed in 2018 by Channel 5, introducing a new batch of 16 contestants in front of a studio audience.
Ahead of the reboot, voiceover star Marcus took to social media to share a throwback video of his final recording in 2018 in anticipation for the show.

The clip showed Marcus, 55, saying 'tonight, it's almost time to say goodbye' in his famous Geordie accent.
The Gateshead-born voiceover artist shot to fame in 2000 when Big Brother launched on Channel 4.
Marcus stayed with the popular reality series during the changeover to Channel 5 and recorded the voiceover up until its last run in 2018.
When the show announced a return, rumours started to fly on whether Marcus would be joining the programme again.
These rumours were put to rest in April when a source told The Sun: 'It was a no brainer to have Marcus back for the new era - he is simply the voice associated with Big Brother UK.'
