MOSCOW, August 11. /TASS/. Russia’s PIK and MBIR research reactors are the only ones in the world that cover the entire spectrum of neutron flux research, Rosatom CEO Alexey Likhachev said at a Presidential Council for Science and Education meeting chaired by Vladimir Putin.

"It is obvious that we will operate within budget limitations [and] face unscrupulous international competition. [That is why] the complementarity of these two reactors, which allows for cost savings and mutual support, is vital. The PIK and MBIR research reactors are the brightest example. From a neutron flux perspective, they cover the entire spectrum, which is unique worldwide. The same will happen with our thermonuclear reactors at the relevant facilities," he noted.
