MOSCOW, August 10. /TASS/. The MOEX Index edged up 0.53% to 2,293.32 points at the close of Monday's main trading session, while the dollar-denominated RTS Index dipped 0.01% to 874.57 points. The yuan eased by 6 kopecks to 12.18 rubles.

"The MOEX Index topped 2,300 points again today, though it spent most of the session hovering just below that threshold. Market bulls drew support from a favorable mix of rallying oil prices and a weaker ruble," noted Andrey Smirnov, a stock market expert at BCS World of Investments.

"Samolet Group shares (+18%) surged following news that a Kazakh investment fund had acquired an 18% stake in the homebuilder," said Natalia Milchakova, lead analyst at Freedom Global.

According to her, T-Technologies shares (-1.4%) led the declines, likely sliding because the board of directors had not announced its decision on interim dividends by the closing bell.

BCS World of Investments estimates that in the absence of major geopolitical news, the MOEX Index may continue trading near the 2,300 mark on Tuesday. Analysts anticipate that the ruble could strengthen to 80-81 per dollar and 11.9-12 per yuan before autumn.

Freedom Global expects the MOEX Index to fluctuate within the 2,250-2,350 point range on Tuesday. The firm forecasts the dollar, euro, and yuan to trade at 81-83 rubles, 94-96 rubles, and 12-12.5 rubles, respectively.
