Protein is everywhere – in cereal, bread, ice cream; it’s even being served in our refreshments. Make mine an espresso proteini!

What once started out as a somewhat bland shake for serious athletes, has shifted into a mainstream phenomenon. Today, Lumina Intelligence figures show that 43% of consumers seek high-protein food.

Unlike some ‘trends’, protein has shown longevity; lending itself naturally to today’s hot ticket items (think cottage cheese and other forms of natural protein), and in other ways contorting itself to fit them (hello, protein foam on your latte).

It’s been years of this - countless iterations of protein packaged up in new (and some not so new) ways. The question is how much longer can this bubble continue to stretch before it makes a spectacular pop?

What’s next for protein?

In our next webinar sponsored by Coperion and Ulrick + Short, Food Manufacture brings together four leading voices to explore the future of protein.

Delegates will gain an understanding of how consumer expectations are evolving, where the category is heading next and why, and how to win in this competitive landscape.

Lumina Intelligence’s insight lead, Flora Zwolinski, will kick the session off, guiding attendees through the latest trends backed by Lumina’s proprietary data.

Following this, she will be joined by experts from THIS!, The Protein Ball Co., and Danone to discuss the topic further; diving into areas such as innovation, GLP-1s and types of protein.
