Montreal Comiccon will take place July 3 to 5 at the Palais des congrès, bringing together enthusiasts of comics, anime, gaming, film and pop culture. 

Vincent Paquin, Assistant Professor, Department of Psychiatry is available to discuss the psychology of fan cultures. He can speak to how online spaces have reshaped fandoms, and how events like Comiccon bring those connections into the real world and help foster both social bonds and a sense of identity, particularly among young people. He can also address how fandom intersects with mental health and the attention these communities are receiving from clinicians seeking to better understand young people’s social lives today.
